Five habits that help members stay on track for retirement

Consistency is one of the strongest predictors of retirement readiness. Members who review their contribution rate at least once a year are better placed to adjust when salaries change or family priorities shift.

Keeping beneficiary nominations up to date is equally important. Life events such as marriage, the birth of a child, or a change in dependents should prompt a fresh look at nomination forms.

Understanding your scheme statement, asking questions early, and using member education sessions all help close knowledge gaps before they become costly surprises.

At NBC Ghana Trust, we encourage members to treat retirement planning as an ongoing conversation—with their employer, their trustees, and our team—rather than a once-a-year task.
